Air operator's certificate
The regulator's approval that allows an operator to conduct commercial air transport, subject to its operations manual and conditions.
Accountable manager
The person, at SkyBridge the chief executive, who has authority over the operation and is responsible to the regulator for the safety management system.
Turnaround
The period between an aircraft arriving on a bay and departing again, during which it is unloaded, serviced, refuelled and reloaded.
Load sheet
The document that records the passengers, baggage, freight and fuel on an aircraft and confirms the weight and balance are within limits.
Notification to the pilot in command
The written notice listing the dangerous goods loaded on an aircraft, their location and their classification, signed for by the pilot in command.
Just culture
An approach in which honest errors are reported and learned from without punishment, while reckless or wilful conduct is not protected.
Fatigue risk management system
The rostering limits, reporting, monitoring and training through which an operator manages the risk of fatigue in its people.
Aviation security identification card
The card issued after background checking that a person must display to work unescorted in security-controlled airside areas.
Foreign object debris
Any loose item on the apron, taxiway or runway that can damage an aircraft engine, tyre or airframe, and is removed during bay checks.
Visual flight rules
The rules under which a pilot navigates by visual reference to the ground and horizon, subject to minimum visibility and cloud clearance requirements.
